the fun filled Wookey Hole Caves and attractions.
Wookey Hole Caves is situated in the small village of Wookey Hole in the county of Somerset. The caves are also used for maturing cheddar cheese, due to the constant temperatures, but they also boast a spectacular subterranean lake.
The former Paper Mill at the site once produced handmade paper and can still be seen along with the latest attractions of a dinosaur yard, cave diving and exploration museum and a theatre. You may also wish to encounter the Witch of Wookey Hole, a stalagmite that roughly resembles a human form located in the first set of caves. Legend has it that the witch was turned to stone by a monk who splashed her with blessed water from the river, after she cursed his romance to girl he was to marry.
